Powerhead Indoor Picnic!
In keeping with our “we love NYC and can’t stop talking about” theme, we purchased a permit to have a picnic in Central Park. Food was ordered, travel arrangement arranged, significant others cajoled, etc. Sadly, though, the forecast was for rain. And, not maybe-drizzling-wear-a-hat rain, but don’t-stand-in-an-open-field-thunderstorm kinda rain.
Unfortunately our weather machine is still far from completion (but when it is, they will all rue the day!), so we switched to Plan B: Indoor BBQ! Conveniently, our upstairs neighbor is an event planner. They were nice enough to book us for a full floor party!
The day consisted of:
- FOOD!
- Mass consumables for carnivores and herbivores alike. Including some fine ribs from a local favorite, Virgil’s! (Insert self-deprecating reference about yet another food blog post here.)
- Drink’s in various size bottles, including my favorite Iced Tea and Lemonade in gallon jug form!
- GAMES!
- A big game of Werewolf (Kudos to Jim and Yury for their victory over the villagers, even if it did cost Yury his life.
- And more board games with more chits than I thought possible…
- A LATE NIGHT!
- After they kicked us out the party moved downstairs to see the conclusion of various games, and the start of some virtual rocking. (Gotta get our money’s worth on that Ion Rocker.)
Big thanks to Neil for organizing both an indoor and outdoor event simultaneously!
